civic coupe DX questions
ok i am looking into getting a black civic dx (because it's cheaper than an EX and it's black so the shitty plastic stuff doesn't show up as easily) but first i have some questions, i was looking at msn's stats on the DX coupe and they say that it doesn't have power windows/locks etc. i was just wondering if anyone here has a civic DX or knows what the deal is.

Re: civic coupe DX questions (cumplesteed)
if you dont need all the extras the ex has go for it .. "its still a honda"... besides with a little ingenuity and a couple good junk yards, you can have all the same ****

Well - If you're into racing....
Power Windows = more weight from window motors
Power Lock = more weight from lock mechanism
Sound Insulation (DX doesn't have, inside doors, etc) = more weight
Sunroof? = more flexible (less rigid) chassies / body
Power Steering = tiny HP loss, no "feel" for road
A/C = more engine/ overall weight and HP loss when on
HOWEVER. mine is installed so my wife will still cruise with me in summer...
I say DX is the only way to go!! I love my coupe - although I like the hatchbacks even more...

Re: civic coupe DX questions (cumplesteed)
I have a 99 DX Coupe with A/C and Power door locks. The A/C was installed at the dealer and the PDL's were installed when I had my alarm installed. I don't really care about the manual windows cause there are only 2 and it's not all that hard to use a crank
If you're planning a swap anyway just get the DX.

Re: civic coupe DX questions (nonsense)
Hot as hell here in LA, 98 today in Palmdale..June gloom my ***! AC is a necessity for SoCal in the summer. We use coolant, thats antifreeze to you Canadians. No wonder it's no biggie to you...lol
