Default Civic Coilovers fittment

I have acknowledged that it is possible to fit coilovers for 92-95 civic on to 96-00 civics with the help of some spacers due to the different size LCAs. However i still wonder, would it cause any rattles or any gaps in between? would performance be effected as well? I always thought it wouldnt, but a friend said it might. So just want opinions for a larger group. thanks in advance

I believe the coilovers all just fit 88-00 civic's, del sol's, crx's and 90-01 integra's. Never heard of anything about wheel spacers..

Man i've even had rsx skunk2 rear coilovers on my civic before and it drove good.

oh rly?

The 96-00 model civic do have skinnier LCA's and need spacers, many use washers, to make up the difference. I know first hand i helped a buddy install my used coils on his ek hatch. If it is all torqued to spec and installed correctly there should be no issues as far as rattles or gaps. Just dont rush the process and take the time to find the right fitting spacers.

Skunk2 sells spacers with their coilovers, you might be able to just buy the spacers from them...

Are you changing just the springs to coilovers? or a whole new strut with coilover?

What you just said is physically impossible...unless he were using coilover SLEEVES.

Coulovers are a "1 piece" design that the "strut" it built into the spring and whole assembly. Coulovers are also adjustable...spring/strut combos are not

i'm guessing you guys just mis-understood me.. not too good with suspension. I had skunk2 coilovers on my stock struts. But there are also ONE-PIECE coilovers that i've seen.

CORRECTION-you had Skunk 2 coilover SLEEVES.
You will never run a strut with a full bodied one piece coilover

The only difference between the 96-00 Civic shock/spring and the 92-95 Civic/94-01 Integra is the rear shocks. The fork that mounts to the lower control arm of the shocks is wider on the EG/DC. What you need just to go Home Depot, Lowes, get some washers and you'll be fine. I'm running Koni Reds/Ground Controls on my car right now which I took from a EG hatch.
