Civic 97 CEL question
Hello,
I have 1997 Honda Civic Hatchback CX.
My Check Engine Light went on the other day and with some Web help I found out that the error code associated with it is 92:
Evaporative Emission Control System insufficient purge flow
Does anybody knows what this is?
Is there any quick for it or I have to go to the garage?
Car seems to be reponding fine, so I am not sure if this is something serious,
thanks in advance,
Risbo

Don't hold me to this but it sounds like something that could be associated with a no longer functional Catalytic Converter (cat.). I don't know for sure but someone was telling me that the CX was wired different for the emissions and gas mileage therefore there is a sensor in the cat itself. PLEASE DON'T FLAME IF I AM WRONG
I was talking to a kid and he said that he needed to buy a whole new cat because it got plugged due to him burning oil and he couldn't just cut the cat off and weld a peice in due to the sensor......he could be wrong he could be right....I didn't look into this.

Re: Civic 97 CEL question (risbo)
The code could not be a 92. Your car is OBD II the codes always start with a P and follow with four numbers. If it is a evap code it involves a part of your emission system that keep fuel vapors from escaping into the atmosphere. You need a OBD II scan tool to diagnose the problem and to retrieve the code. Hope this helps.
