Default Civic 2000 or 2001 models?

Okay so which model has all disc brakes? Is it the 2000 Si? I know that all 2001s have only front disc brakes (rear is drum).

Also, is the suspension design on the 2000 different? Is it better? Because I know the civic has a bit of a weak suspension style (for heavy driving ) compared to most vehicles (my opinion).

Basically, which year do you think is better? The Civic 2000 or the 2001?

I can't seem to decide. I'm also looking into Nissan Sentra, but that car isn't as upgradeable as the Civic is

Any help would be appreciated.

I can sit 2 people comfortably in my back seat. As long as they aren't 7' tall and weight 300 pounds. I haven't been in a 2001 for comparison.

Si=SiR
EX=Si

no, theres no EX in the 2000 models in Canada.

Its the new generation that they get a bit confusing in that area. I think its: Si = Si-G and the SiR = Type R.

yeah i know there is no EX in canada, that's why I said EX=Si

Canadian model Civic SiR, which is basically the same as the U.S. `99-`00 Si but with ABS and heated side mirrors. In 1996, American Honda dropped the Si badge and called the top of the line Civic model the EX (127hp SOHC VTEC D16Y8 engine). Honda Canada continued to use the Si badge for the exact same car (127hp SOHC VTEC D16Y8). When Honda decided to bring the DOHC VTEC 160hp B16A2 Civic to North America, American Honda ressurected the Si badge, while Honda Canada used the SiR badge, since they were still selling the Si in the form of the SOHC VTEC model. So for `99 and `00, Canadian Si = US EX, Canadian SiR = US Si.

There is a 2000 Civic EX in Canada, my cousin has one. It's an auto D16Y8.

Get the 99-00... it's got a better engine and the better double-wishbone suspension that made Honda famous well handling cars. It's a better car overall IMO.
