is it possible to get 50 hp or around that with a chip on a non-aspirated engine, my friends has a del-sol, and said u can gain 50 hp, i saw NO MORE THAN 15, and answers?

The only chips I have seen for hondas only help raise rpm and can increase hp, but not 50 - maybe 20 tops.

on a n/a no way unless he was running a non-vtec ecu, then switched to dohc vtec with a chip...then its possible....

but all things being equal, no way you can improve the factory setup much more then 10-20hp, given that the motor is not stock....so if you have cams, head work and much more other parts...then the 20hp is possible.....

on a turbo its a different story...

I've never seen a Honda chip they made more than 15. there are chips for VW's and Audi's that make over 100hp.

i have ...check with screamer....his setup was tuned for over few hours on a dyno to get that perfect mixture and ignition timing...he gained i belive 22whp over his stock p72 ecu....

I saw one of those aftermarket chips they make for Jettas. beetles and Golf GTI's. Those things are crazy. It had three modes you could set it on. One was race. The other was daily driver, and the last was valet. The race seting put out an extra 80 HP. The daily driving setting put out about 30 extra horses, and the valet setting actually took away 40 hp. Crazy.

chippin germans cars might give up to 50hp because there is alot of power not use for german cars stock so i heard

i just got the skunk2 race ecu for my eg and noticed a huge difference. im guessing about 20hp and a big increase in torque but have not made it to a dyno yet. also i dont know what motor you have but i have a b18c you will notice different increases with different motors.

you can gain 50hp if you have an audi or vw 1.8t but on a honda its unheard of.

exactly... german cars are the ones who gain massive power from a chip.

what doea a chip do anyway. my friend has a 98 gti and he got a chip from neuspeed and he said he gained like hp, but he doesn't know **** about it, so what does it do, is it just a more aggressive fuel map or something he said it took off his speed govenor too.

all chips will do is change the a/f ratios, timing, and redline (probably more but these are tehmost notable).

the chips that give you 80hp on the germans are for turbo'd cars. They change everything i mentioned but also increase the boost.

you will never find a chip that will give you that kind of gains on a honda. The way you can get 10-20 hp is, like mentioned above, throwing one on a modded engine.

But i would still have to see some graphs to believe a 20 hp gain on a chip, even on an engine with cams and bolt-ons.

Most of the time piggybacks would seem to be a better route than a chip. Depends entirely on your set-up.
