chicago-my civic got stolen
my black 1999 civic ex 5 spd was stolen last sunday between 630pm and 1030pm near the harlem and irving area, i got a call from the cops that it was found near diversey and central yesterday.
it was almost 100% stock, only mod was a short ram aem intake. also had a yellow top optima battery which they took out and replaced with a cheapo. car was very clean tho.
they took:
front bumper (cracked, in no condition to be sold. wtf????)
light BULBS. yes, they left the HEADLIGHTS but took the BULBS. ????
front passenger side fender
side skirts
radio+climate control panel
drivers side window switch PANEL. ??
headlight/turn signal switch
they punched the drivers side lock in with something to get in, but i dont know how they started it. there are no crossed wires or anything like that, and the car wont start now. the first position on the ignition cylinder (when i turn the key) works and i get a beeping sound, the next two positions dont do anything.
can anyone tell me how they typically start these cars?
if anyone has any information about who couldve done this, or if you see parts that i mentioned above for sale somewhere please PM me or reply to this thread.
here are some pics for the curious:

I'm sorry, but it's kind of funny how they took under $200 worth of stuff.. Especially considering your car is in mint condition. Kind of weird..
If you're interested in:
side skirts
radio+climate control panel
drivers side window switch PANEL. ?? (door panel?)
LMK, I parted out my 96.

Re: chicago-my civic got stolen
wow bunch of cheap f..ks. Im glad you got your car back though. It seems that they were much in need of getting the parts they needed, go around to some local streets someone probably has it on.
But they can take your car easily just but using any older honda key from 90s-00, and grind/sand it down a bit and just wiggle away into the locks/ignition of the car.
Also theres another way of breaking the ignition.
