cheapest way to get into 13's?
I would like to go the turbo route and would like to run consistent 13's, (in a hatch full interior), what engine/turbo/amount of boost would you guys say would run consistent 13's and still be reliable for at least 75,000 miles. I'd really like to run turbo so don't say the type r, i mean that's an option yes but would that be the cheapest way. A friend of mine had a 89 crx si and a d16z6 with a greddy kit running 10lbs of boost and ran consistent 13.0 (on slicks) But i want to hear what you guys have to say about it, thanks.

Well I know for a fact that the rev hard kits are very good...You are in a weird situatiob you want to go fast but stay cheap...It is a veryhard equation. I would personally build a motor...Have some torque and HP....If just the turbo I would recomend the rev hard stage 2 it is money but well worth it...Good Luck...I think well I dont know what motor you have If you do a stage 2 and 10lbsof boost...i will speed you up...but if you have a low torque and HP engineit may only get you into 15's...What time do you run now...subtract a sec or maybe less or maybe more...Then that will help you figure it out....later

i think singlecam screamer broke into the 12s with a d16 and a 65 shot of nitrous and slicks

D16Z6 on nitrous would land you in the 13's if you have it tuned properly and you can drive.
Hell a D15B7 DX motor would get you there too, but that's in a light-*** car and a good driver too - just ask Mista Bone.

N2O + stripped down + slicks = 13's no problem
Which is more important? 13s, or a full interior?
Gutting is cheapest....

*edit* And oh yea, it will be way more reliable than turbo, and another advantage is, you dont have a big fat intercooler in the front and a blow off valve to attract thieves(I'm not saying a non turbo car can get stolen but ya know).

I hate seeing the BEST looking car in the world be turned into a "drag car". The 64 Nova II's are THE best cars in the world...even better than hatches

Check my Sig. I always run at the track as if I am going to drive the car on the street. I did no modification to the car for track runs, not even adjust the tire pressure.
I would assume if I didnt have 17" rims, a full body kit, 2 spoilers, full interior, my jack and tools, the car would run a tad faster...but that takes half the fun out of it.
I paid 1500 for the complete LS motor and about 2500 for the turbo plus all my other mods. So for 4000 you can have a probably a low 13's to high 12's daily driver if u dont run with the kit, wheels, tools like I do.
I drive the car everyday to school, work and just around. And on top of that, the runs I do at the track are with a chip that is completely out of tune. I think the car is a tad faster at my current lvls. But after I ran that 13's, they made me stop cause i didnt have helmet

I've always heard there are three ways you can build a car:
Fast; Reliable or Cheap....pick 2 because you can't have all three.
What are you running now? How much more do you have to shave off before you hit 13's?

h22a-$2200($3000 after everything to convert to your hatch) learn to drive it .. a few mods and you should def. be there.. if its gonna be your first time with turbo.. i doubt it gonna be reliable, it was for me when i turbo'd my 99 si.
