uhh, try http://www.d-series.org and see what they think. my question is... why 15.5? why not 15.1? 14.7? 15.9? 15.3?

if all you want is 15.5 gut it (free), ex/si tranny ($200 at most), 50 shot *plenty safe*($450).

that combo SHOULD get you mid 15s if you are any kind of driver. and you arent trying to launch on some 17" rotas or something.

i know how u feel, especially with all these rich guys tellin u to turbo a b series. I heard a saying on this site it was like "Cheap, fast, safe, but u can only choose two"
and nitrous is gay because u cant use it all the time and have to recharge. but ur best bet is stripping ur entire enterior, getting good tires, and ull be set for about a 15.7

nitrous is gay if you want to race road coarse, if you say you want a car to run mid 15s in the 1/4 mile its not a road coarse car, its a drag car, in which case nitrous would only be used 15.5 sec at a time. therefore, if you went to the track every weekend (if a track was even open every weekend out the year) and made 2 passes you might have to fill up the bottle 4 times a year ($120/year).

yeah, nitrous is gay

thats why you use both nitrous and turbo for best fuel effince and you never get on the throttle while daily driving the 300hp, vitara piston, 50 shot notrous, NX Ntercoolered beast of a civic

milling the head wont do much, if your going to do that, might as well port and polish, bring out the dome a litttle, valves, springs, retainers cam, vitaras, eagle rods, boost 25psi, RDX 410cc injectors, d16y8 intake manifolf, 50 shot of nitrous, strip the interior, and make it a ~11 second car?

You'll have to piece one together by yourself. It'll take a good amount of research and work. The actual kits are in the thousands.

DIY only rich kids and poseurs actually buy a kit. Take cheap manifold, add some sort of T3 from a saab, cheap FMIC and then megasquirt the whole contraption with some sort of bigger injectors.

I know you said you dont want to hear this but im gunna say it anyway. I swapped in a integra LS motor ($500) GSR Tranny ($150) Motor mounts ($200) Axles ($150) and ECU ($60). Im running a 14.9 with my civic coupe. Thats not that expensive at all. $1060 If youre going to put in a new motor, put in a good one, no sense in doing swap after swap. Youll get very tired of the D16 very quickly, trust me. Been there done that! Just an opinion.
