Chassis Floorbar Effectiveness
Has anyone tried one of these? How effective have you found these to be on the 6G Coupe? I know Benen makes one, and I saw that arospeed makes one.

for the 6gen coupes you may not have seen one made cause it hink they come from the factory w/ brace underneath the car already that does the same thing..

Re: Chassis Floorbar Effectiveness (95CivicEX)
Hmm... I didn't know the 6G coupes already had these under the car. I'll have to take a closer look at it later. But I have seen one made for it by Benen I think.

Yup, the 6th gen has a massive crossmember that is right under the rear seat cushion. This little bar will do nothing. It's bent to fit up over the hump, and that's where the weak spot is, right there. Even if the bar were perfectly straight, it still wouldn't do much beside add weight.

Re: Chassis Floorbar Effectiveness (electronspeeder)
umm...Which bar are u talking about the one on top is a pic of a friends R with the do-luck bar.
The bottom one is benens crossmember bar.
I have a 5gen hb but i also have the do-luck bar installed. It makes a BIG difference, eliminates alot of chasis flex...trust me.
Oh BTW i have friends who have this installed in thier type r, integras, and a 6g civic coupe si...They all felt the difference.
Alot of people are skeptical and talk ish about this bar, but take it from someone who actually has this bar it makes a huge difference.

Re: Chassis Floorbar Effectiveness (Mike P.)
4 point rollbar why not just get a full cage?
obviously a rollbar would provide more stiffening, but some people use their back seat.
For street and occasional track driving rollbars aren't very practical.
"Rice" eh, please explain why the do-luck bar is rice.
I guess strut bars and sway bars must be rice too huh?

It's rice because it doesn't do ****. It's just a shiny piece that you'll show your friends once or twice with hopes that they'll pop a boner. A swaybar isn't rice, nor is a proper chassis brace that actually has some function. If you rip up the carpet and rear seat, there's a HUGE crossmember in there. Tell me where this little chintzy bar is going to improve on that.

Re: Chassis Floorbar Effectiveness (Mike P.)
uh, do you have this bar or have been in a car with this bar installed?
seriously because you talk as if you've had first hand experience with it.
My friend with a type R installed it and he even felt an improvement and type r's already have a stiffened chasis so go figure. 3 other guys he knows w/ type r's also installed the same bar after taking a ride in his car.
I have an eg hb with the do-luck bar and a friend of mine, also with an eg hb ,drove my car and he could feel the difference.
like i stated above a friend of mine has a si/sir w/full coilover suspension, type R swaybar and every strut/tie bar on his car, he installed the bar and there is a big difference.
believe it or not the do-luck bar does make a difference in reducing chasis flex.

You know what....since you're such a disbeliever, why not come here and experience it for yourself... 3 ITR's, an Integra, Civic Si (SIR), 93 Civic hb...take your pick...I'll even provide the same model vehicles unequipped with them. Who knows, you might even walk away with a boner after experiencing the difference...

Even if it made a minimal change, you could put that $400 dollars someplace that would make a noticable differerece, that everybody would agree on. I think it's rice.
