cf trunk problems flies open hard and fast
got my new hood, trunk and lip today....everything is great but the trunk is so light that it flies open way too fast and hard! Is it possible to weaken the rods the act as the spring for the trunk? it opens and flies back so hard i'm scared it might break the trunk. so is the body guy that is painting and aligning everything, he pointed it out.
thanks for any help

Re: (eg_boi)
You have 2 trunk springs that pull your trunk up. I would try taking ONE trunk spring off, or look up the DIY on getting gas shocks for it. I need to get gas shocks for mine. After someone lil ***** decided to throw an enormous rock at my trunk and dent it, I picked up a new trunk with a factory spoiler. Now my trunk doesn't open at all because I do not have the "heavy duty" trunk springs. ><

yea i had same problem with mine what i did with mine was just take the one rod spring out. the only problem with that tho the trunk does like to stay up. but in my eyes its better than having it fly open and possibly having it crack.

hmmm ok don't ever say somthing like that again.. one adding weights doesn't make since, its a carbon fiber trunk for a reason.
