Default CEL 43 - Fuel System supply (Included are a list of tried attempts & results) Please Help

Ok I will try and keep this as accurate as possible because this problem is really racking my brain and i am beginning to get frustrated.
Car: 1990 Civic Converted to OBD1 running uberdata 1.7 (Stock p28 basemap)
Motor: JDM d15b vtec

Ok most people that receive this code have solved the problem by replacing the oxygen sensor and resetting the ecu. I have diagnosed the o2 sensor and replaced with a month old honda denso 4 wire o2 sensor, and it is correctly wired! (I traced it out and checked continuity and all that)

What the problems i have noticed with the car are:
1. Bad fuel effeciency 15mpg when i used to get 30+ a couple months ago
2. Smelly exhaust (it literally smells like gas)
3. Check engine light comes on only when accellerating the car to about 70mph.

I drove the car yesterday 50+ miles low speed around town cruising and no light. But today after driving the car 10 minutes and merging onto I95 The light came on.

Other notes to be considered:
I have set the timing to stock with a timing light
I have set the fuel pressure within stock specs with my b&m fpr

Any ideas i am really at my wits end at this point.
Also fyi the way my fuel pressure gauge is plumbed is at the extreme end of the loop (ie line->Rail->Fpr on rail -> gauge on driver side of rail) maybe bad fuel readings? leak?

Hey. I just checked the plugs they appear normal. They were not particularily white or black. just regular looking. Any ideas anyone??
also checked around the fuel injectors for leaks or anything abnormal and found nothing....

Sorry for the long post but i have dedicated alot of time to diagnosing this problem and i just cant figure it out. thanks for your help

well. I'm an obd1 assemble developer. Probally it's something bad in the rom code. I had it in my own roms to.
The code is linked to short term o2 correction. If those exced an value it will trow a code. Also when the ecu is "openlooop". "openloop" because i don't like the openloop way uberdata uses. By resetting the ecu you clear the short/long term fuel corrections.
THat's way it takes a while before poping.
If the code is good you think. Tune your fuel maps. Very piece of it.
Vacum/boost/all rpm ranges.

I hope this helps

Not sure about the others, but mine is a stock p75 ecu with no chip, on a stock LS motor with no boost or anything....

I'm pretty sure there is an issue somewhere the because the car is idling really rough and sometimes stalls, both when warm AND cold...

resettind pcm does not change or coorect your long or short fuel trims those are just # representing how much correction your car is making . having the gauge after the regulator could throw off your reading i would try to use another gauge and run it in line before the rail also check the resistance of your injectors

I was on the highway all day today, and sorta figure something out.

It was running good for the first half hour, then all of a sudden started stuttering again real bad. IF i shut the car off and turn it back on the hesistation goes away. Sometimes its good for 10 mins, sometimes only a minute. But if i turn it off and then back on, its 9/10 times better ( but only for a short wire)

Ok, im having the same problem. I used to have this problem before, and what i figured out was a bad 02 sensor. Yeah it doesnt make sense, but its what it is. you'd think you would be throwing a bad o2 code.

I swapped my sensor out, got a new one, and the code was gone for good, ran like a champ agian. Think about what your saying "Smells like gas, loosing gas mileage, running ritch" thats all o2 problems.

When i did my last swap, i managed to break my o2 sensor, and the CEL came back.

Try that out. let me know.

The other thing is , in the honda service manual for code 43, it asks is the CEL on AND is there poor driveablity.

If YES, go to fuel supply system tests.
if NO, then it says to test the o2 sensor.

only tells u to test the o2 if you DONT have poor driveablitiy. I cant make sense out of that?

I have the same problem. my code 43 comes on everyday, it comes on when the car warms up. I have been in the habit of turning the car off and on again when i start to drive and see the car is warming up. The action of turning the car off and on again turns it off. It only seems to happen when the car is cold and comes on in the process of the warm up.

I have gone through 3 O2 sensors with no luck and no change, so I know its not the 02

which rom do you use?
to low fuel pressure..
43 is trown when exceeding the limits of the short term fuel trim.

i see u use uberdata. That's your problem i think. I dev roms(assemble)@pgmfi.org. I know some parts of the rom code. This is one of them.
