CEL 22 VTEC Pressure Valve: Help Me Please
I started my car up today and started getting this CEL 22. I checked the CEL list and it is for the Vtec Pressure Valve. My car isn't driving abnormally. I can run the engine all the way to redline in every single gear without any sputtering or abnormal operation at all. I checked the oil in the car and it was a little low. So, I put in about a 1/2 quart of oil and I am still seeing this CEL.
I have cleared and reset the ECU by removing the backup fuse and every time I turn the car on it CEL's straight to 22. I have looked around Honda-Tech and Super Honda as well as Google but nobody seems to have any real advice on what has happened and whether replacing the VTEC Pressure Valve will fix the problem.
Are there any tests I can do to make sure the valve is actually broken? What would happen to my engine if this valve was actually not operating correctly?
Any help would be appreciated.
