Default cd player

does it need ground wire? mine never had one. it just stopped working all of sudden. could it be the wire harness?

Yes it does need one, it should be hooked up to the frame somehow. I dont see how it could of possibly worked without it before unless it was somehow grounded thro the case to the frame.

Well I do think the OEM harness has a ground to it, which travels to main ground. Most aftermarket harnesses that plug into the OEM harness, have a ground wire. I've never grounded my aftermarket head units before, and they've worked perfectly fine forever.
