Now something for the OP... Citric acid may help:

"Researchers have found that a simple wash of citric acid can spruce up exhausted catalytic converters in diesel-powered cars, renewing their pollution-busting properties."

Quoted from here:

It may help with gasoline cats but not sure.
Those are all good prices but I like to exchange my Chinese junk when it breaks the same day at my local Harbor Freight.

I am sure they would. The precious metals in the catalytic converter are worth at least $200. People were hacksawing the big Chevy SUV's right out of people's driveways at night and scrapping them. $350 a piece and there were two on the Denali I believe it was.

The car is running like **** because of the code and the ECU is in probably in limp mode, yes. But you haven't even tried to eliminate any of the other things like exhaust leak before assuming it's the cat. Do you know how many people have thrown this code, bought a cat and still this code is thrown?

So again, you know everything so here's hoping you guessed right and the cat fixes it. If not...
This man speaks the truth. Try not to become offended and you will see he only means to help

Are you serious?

These people are trying to help you and you're shitting all over them. I hope you waste your money and the problem still exists. It would serve you right.

Why bother making a thread and asking for help if you aren't going to listen anyways and pretend like you know everything?

Leave and don't come back

Come on now. It is human nature to want to not be wrong and defend themselves. Cut the guy some slack. He is probably stressed out and doesn't have much to spend on parts.

I am glad you are here. Welcome to Honda Tech. Please stay and contribute.

No thanks.

He only wants to listen to a mechanic who wants to take as much of his money as possible rather than people who know Hondas who are trying to help him for free with no personal motives or benefits.

Why did he make this thread of he didn't want to listen to any of the advice?
