Hi All,

I am looking to fit a 2 inch cat-back exhaust system to a 98 EK Civic and was after some advice. Is there any point in also fitting a high-flow catalytic converter with a stock engine? Or is a high-flow cat just a waste of money?

It depends what you consider a "waste" of money... You will gain maybe 1-3 hp, and your engine will be able to breathe a little better... Also cats go bad and if you keep your car for a long time it would have to be replaced anyway...

Its up to you whether that is worth the money or not...

Thanks for the advice - I guess the car is going on 11 years old now, so you're probably right and it would be due for a change.

Any thoughts on if you think the original cast iron headers would also need to be changed (car only has 20,000 miles on the clock)?

you can use the stock manifold with any exhaust though if you do though decide to go with an aftermarket header you will increase your overall hp gain from your exhaust
