Carbon Fiber Hood Reinforcement on the Underside
I recently got a CF and was checking it out. Everything seems to be fine, except for one thing. The underside of the hood (skeleton part and the top part of the CF hood) are not attached. When I say not attached, I mean as in the outter parts are attached, but not the inner parts of it. I wish i had my camera to take pictures (will have some posted by the end of tonight).
I am worried about it blowing up on me as I drive. BTW I am not a fan of the hood pins.
Is there any type of silicon/expoy (sp?) that I can spray/apply so that the skeletol system so that it will attach to the CF part? Also, I do not want to mess up the CF part so please keep that in mind.
Thanks in advance and I did try to research before I posted.

You can try epoxy but theres no guarantee that it will hold if the skin decides to fly off

seeing as it's probably pretty smooth, nothing will get a good bond to the surface.
even if it was completely together, i'd still use hood pins just for the extra security, but that's your choice

I was about to suggest something like that. It might hold, it might not. But I don't see how the silicon would screw up the CF.
What brand of hood did you buy? Did you buy it new? If you bought it new you might want to call the company that makes it and see if that's how its supposed to be. It might be a messed up hood and depending on the company they may replace it.
I would find out if the hood is supposed to be like that first, because if it turns out to be a defective hood and you try to fix it yourself the company may refuse to take it back.
