Carbon Fiber Exahust
I saw a wrx with a carbon fiber exahust and was wondering who made a it and if it's available for 92-95 civics? And is it any different then any other exahust such as greddy or apexi?

You're probably talking about the HKS Hiper for the WRX. BTW it's stainless steel with the can wrapped in CF and a titanium tip. Expensive, yes but pretty cool. About apps for civics, I don't think so, correct me if I'm wrong. You could buy one and hack it up, but that would be a little expensive .

HKS makes a carbon fiber system for the WRX, and other turbo cars. I haven't seen anything about them making one for civics. But they do make a universal titanium muffler that's like $300 or $400. I'm waiting for some major company myself to make one for an EK; at least an axle-back.

THAT'S what he meant. Ok, yeah I know what he's talking about now. For some reason I thought he meant carbon fiber exhaust as in tip and all (ew). The HKS doesn't look all that bad, not for me personally, though.

Re: Carbon Fiber Exahust (Lsubball99)
There is a guy driving round campus here with a cf muffler. Looks like an apex'i N1, the piping is routed like the Fireball though. Dunno who makes it, or if it was a complete catback system. IMO his doesn't sound all that, looks ok though. Like the hks very much though, sexy looking...

How about this one...it's an axle-back for civics...
Stainless steel (including piping) w/ carbon fiber wrapped canister.

Re: Carbon Fiber Exahust (bhcvc)
And the point of wrapping a muffler in CF and giving it a titanium tip is???????? There's no performance gain from it, the weight difference would be negligible... why get one??? Just save the money you would spend putting YET ANOTHER carbon fiber piece on your car, and get something that's actually worth the money. By this point, CF is REALLY overused.

Re: Carbon Fiber Exahust (spyder)
I don't know about you, but for me, the poing for doing anything to my car is for my personal satisfaction. Not everyone only buys parts to make them go faster. Many ppl like to purchase things that they feel make their car look better and satisfy them. We don't buy cars just cuz they're fast. We buy them cuz we like the way they look, the value that we feel they provide us, and so forth, so there are many other factors to anything car related. Some ppl like N1-style exhausts, some like the normal oval exhausts...haven't you noticed ppl always asking "does this look good" and so forth. Ppl do it for personal satisfaction, which includes personal tastes on style. Yeah, weight savings is negligible, but that isn't necessarily the point.

Re: Carbon Fiber Exahust (spyder)
Ok, I sorta agree w/ spyder about the CF It's a little overdone.
But on the other hand. That titanium tip is well worth a little extra cash.
I'm not a ricer. but if all I cared about was speed and not looks, I would have
bought a old beat up GM with a big block. not a civic.
