Car won't start (something to do with clutch safety switch).
I just finished doing my automatic to manual transmission conversion. The car started fine the entire day except for the last time I needed to start it to get home.
I heard my fuel pump prime and I know it wasn't my starter because when I would turn my key all the way over there was nothing, no clicking like I had a bad starter, all my accesories would work so that ruled out my battery.
So I knew it must've been something with my safety switch. I looked down at my pedal assembly and didn't see anything out of the ordinary. However, I did see a gray plug with 2 wires attached to it, these wires were colored pink/green yellow/green.
Now, I was on the phone with Luserkid at the time of this and he was telling me my clutch pedal should have 2 sensors, mine only has 1. The sensor is yellow colored and NOTHING is plugged into it. That grey plug I previously referred too was not plugged into anything, it was dangling there.
I finally got the car started but I didn't do anything, I just tried it again and it started. Luserkid and I couldn't come to the conclusion about why it wouldn't start. We thought, maybe a bad clutch sensor.
However, my safety switch IS NOT wired up, meaning I do not need to push the clutch in when I start my car. Wouldn't that mean the clutch sensor is not used on my car?
Despite I did get it started, I know this could probably happen again and I don't want to be stranded anywhere, any help on this would be great. Thanks.

mine would do that due to not pushing clutch in all the way i dunno if that helps, i never checked for the sensors tho, just try startin it once with clutch pushed in all the way and then second time try with the clutch lil bit off the floor and see wat happens.

Nope, OEM style.
Like I said, yesterday.. I tried it with the clutch ALL the way in and it started fine, and a 2nd time with it completely out and it started fine both times. The night before, I tried it only with the clutch in and nothing.
I'm not sure what I did (if anything) but it just started up.

With this and the other thread, sounds like you might have a shady ignitor. Or something related inside the distributor.
I'd suggest replacing cap/rotor & spark plugs and looking further.

No, the car will not crank at all. Now, this has only happened once, the next day when I started it, it started fine.

Yes, I know I need to replace my O rings and my wires, I have oil coming up from cylindar 1 and my spark plug wires are also torn.
Thanks for the fast answers guys.

Hey guys, just an update.. This happened again this morning and with the help of Luserkid, it turned out to be the connector to my starter. It wasn't very secure, I plugged it in better and it started right up.
