Default car won't start. bad distributor???

ok, i was driving home last night on the interstate, and my car all of a sudden, pretty much died. the tach dropped down to 0. in any gear, i hit the gas, and it just sounds like a really low rev limiter, and won't rev up at all. there was no power at all. i pulled off the side of the road and shut the car off. i tried to start it back up, but it keeps cranking. i'm thinking the distributor went out, but i'm not 100% sure. i haven't had a chance to check out anything yet, since it was around midnight last night that it happened. i was going to order a new dizzy, but i wanted to make sure that was the problem.

mine did that after the swap, it eved up to 4,000 rpm, it was my top dead positioning sensor, so it might be the distrbutor.

i spent about 300 bucks and spend about a month chasing a problem with my car. it ended up being a loose wire.

Could possibly be the alternator. I know when my car died on me like that it was the alternator, I drove it out and coming home my power started to die and I basically had to coast on hopes and prayers into a walmart parking lot to get a jump and prayers to get home

the main relay is fine. never got to installing the fuel pump. i overlooked the ecu fuse. it was blown but i did put a new one in. i was able to drive it probably about 50 feet, then it blew again. put another one in, it blew instantly. tried 2 dif. ecus as well with new fuses, same thing. now i'm trying to figure out what is shorting it out

well turns out, the extended o2 sensor wire was laying on the header, shorting out the ecu fuse
