car stuttering...spark plugs?
My car has been stuttering a bit when I first start it in the morning. As I try to accelerate it will stutter a bit. This stops after a few miles.
My check engine light came on when it did it last week. I went to auto zone and they hooked it up to their hand held code reader. It came back saying there was a misfire. The lady said that I probably needed to get some new spark plugs.
Does this sound right? I hate bringing my car into the shop for this sort of thing.
As you could probably guess, I'm not a car guy. If it is the spark plugs, are they easy to replace? Is it something that I could do?
The car is a 1997 civic DX
thanks in advance

Try replacing your plugs, cap and rotor. If that doesn't work, then try your wires, they are more expensive than the plugs, cap, and rotor combined. Honda's ignition stuff is the best. Good luck.
