spark plug wires maybe, but i would deff check the fuel pump.. if you have a 2000 civic and you still have the original fuel pump then that might be the problem

yeah i have a civic hx and used its original fp that was on the d16 on the b16.. should i purchase a new one?

i doubt its the fuel pump..civic fuel pumps rarely go out..dont ever just throw parts at a car it doesnt work like that..figure it out..

1) do u have a factory ecu..or is it a chipped or tuned ecu??
2) have you checked your timing??
3) could be a number of other things also..just dont replace your fuel pump because someone says so..a D16 fuel pump is wayyy more than enough to handle a B16
4) possible clogged exhaust

I dint know how to check my timing..

Yeah when I'm about to drive and am in 1st gear the car hesitates before the gas kicks in and it makes my car jerk. Same with second. You can even hear the car hesitating when I step on the gas everytime

correct. civic fuel pumps are built to last.
my friend still has his STOCK fuel pump on his 1990 hatch. no problems what so ever.
check your timing.

How do you check timing adn how do you fix it

Did you run that ecu before and it ran ok? sounds like the fuel and/or ignition maps are off, or it dropped tune. I've also seen this when a tune didn't burn to a chip right. you can test the tune by removing the jumper on J1 of the ecu (assuming the person that chipped it used a jumper versus just a wire, where as you would have to cut the wire) This will make the ecu run stock p28 maps which will run the b16.

If your not using a gun Just put the engine in TDC and look for the timing mark on the crank pulley to line up with the timing belt cover and the cam gear marks to point at each other with the "up" arrow facing up.

hey everyone, I am in a little problem with my car.
i drive a civic hx 00 with a b16 swap and notice that under 4k rpm my car hesitates BAD...
its worse on first and second gear.
and my car also smells like carbon dioxide...
please someone help me correct these problems... i been on it so long and havent got it fixed...
so far i changed the spark plugs, tps.
I have a itr manifold btw if that was any help.
also have a p28 ecu chipped by phearable.net

It could be the vacuum lines, but it's doubtful. Check all the grounds on your ECU especially the ones for the distributor. If you have an extra dizzy you could try, that would be good too. A friend of mine brought his EG to me a few weeks ago with a similar problem and it was because of cylinder poss. sensor and we had to swap the guts from another dizzy. Then i had the same issue with my OBD1 swapped CRX and it was because a ground in my jumper harness had come out.

well i was talking to someone and he told me that it might be a fuel problem or timing problem... it hesitates worse when im in 1st and 2nd gear.. like when i start moving on first it would start accelerating with hesitation and then all of a sudden the car gases...

Ignition- best bet would be to test a diferent dizzy if you have a friend that will let you borrow one.

Fuel- Try changing your fuel filter first (cheap and fast) next would be to change the pump or test to see if it's getting up to the right pressure (using a gauge on the output side of the filter).

Still sounds like a tune issue though. Have you had any problems with this before?

The guy that sold me the motor said it ran great when he droveit, I'm using my stock d series fuel pump whichalways worked fine..

is the car misfiring or overheating? Do you have any CEL's?
