Car hesitates in cold weather..
I have a '95 del Sol VTEC that came stock w/ the b16a3.
In the mornings when its cold outside before it gets warmed up it cuts off and hesitates. Sometimes the tach goes crazy too, jumps around, etc. But once its all warmed up its fine. I was thinking the fuel pump might be going or something, but I wanted to get another opinion.
kthx.

Don't know about the tach jumpin around, but the cutting off and hesitation could possibly be the coolant temp sensor.

Tach jumping around could be the result of a bad VSS. Vehicle Speed Sensor. This will thorw a code and also cause the car not to cross over into VTEC.
My GSR had the same problem. I could be coasting to stop at a redlight and the tach spike up to 9k and then jump all around.

My car crosses over into VTEC no problem. Its just when its cold the tach jumps around a lot and I can give it gas and it won't get any.
And it'll randomly cut off before it warms up, etc.

The tach going crazy is probably the ignitor going out and needs to be replaced. I can name a two things that I have read on H-T that contributes to hesitation in the cold.
o2 sensor
coolant sensor
BTW my car does that sometimes in the cold and according to my wideband its a bit lean for that minute and then once its all warm afr is fine and hesitation goes away. That's just for me, but then your problem could be somewhere else.

Its probably the ignitor.
I recently replaced it with a used one. I'll go ahead and buy a new one, they're pretty cheap anyways.
