Default Car acting weird on freeway

So I was on the freeway and using my AC. I was in traffic and my temp gauge read normal. From a stop and from a roll (happened twice), I would press the gas pedal and the car didnt move, it just revved and finally started moving after a second or two. Anyone have an idea as to what this could be? It only happened twice. I got off the freeway and took streets back home. It never did it on the streets. My car has a CEL code 41 right now but I never experienced this before with the code, which has been on for like 2 months now. Could it be my timing belt? I hope not.

Auto tranny BTW. D16y7

Worn out clutch packs? Sounds like your tranny is going bad. When's the last time it was serviced?

i was thinking the tranny as well. I've been noticing when it changes gears, it seems kinda loose. Its not like a clean shift. Kinda feels sloppy sometimes to where the car stays in the higher rpms when it shifts up a gear. not sure if that makes sense. I've never had the tranny serviced. I changed out the ATF a while ago, but thats it. I bought the car used.

My car has done that a few times. I would be on the freeway cruising, next thing you know your car wasn't responding to the gas pedal and it feels like the car was rolling dead in neutral. This only lasted maybe 1-2 seconds. It has also happened from a dead stop where I would hit the gas pedal and it would do absolutely nothing. A second later the car would rev up because of me already having my foot on the pedal and would drive on normally. My 1-2-3 shifts also feel kind of sloppy, but I thought that was because my lack of driving skill

Btw all of this started happening after I swapped in a z6 tranny onto my mini me. I'm 5spd though

Just went to google and picked one.. you said you just recently changed your fluid in the tranny...

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by http://www.familycar.com/transmission.htm#Maintenance &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">When the transmission is serviced, make sure that the correct fluid is used to re-fill it. Each transmission manufacturer has their own recommendation for the proper fluid to use and the internal components are designed for that specific formula. GM usually uses Dexron, Fords prior to 1983 use Type F while later models use Mercon. Late model Chrysler products use ATF +3 +4 (Not using the correct fluid for Chrysler transmissions is the most common reason for their transmission problems.) Toyota sometimes uses Type T which is only available through Toyota and Lexus Parts departments. Honda also specs out their own formula which is available from Honda or Acura parts departments. A transmission will not work properly or may even slip or shudder with the incorrect fluid, so make sure that you double check. Your owner's manual will tell you which fluid is required. Naturally, the owner's manual will try to convince you to only use the manufacturer's branded fluid, but they will also provide you with the specs for the oil. If the aftermarket product indicates on its container that they meet or exceed the specs for a particular type of transmission fluid, it is generally ok to use that product.</TD></TR></TABLE>
