Default Car accelerates on its own

Can somebody tell me why my car aggressively accelerates on its own. I’ll be driving normal and when I go to put the clutch in my car begins to accelerate even when I take my feet off everything, I turn off the car Quickly to prevent any damage to my engine. When I try Turning it on again as soon as it starts it begins to accelerate. Need to know the problem asap so I can fix it

My first guess would be to take a look at the throttle cable on the throttle body. Also make sure the throttle assembly isn't sticking where the cable attaches.

When looking at the throttle cable what am I looking for , I did notice that when this does happen the throttle cable is noticeably loose , I tighten the bolts and I guess they get loose again but the throttle assembly isn’t sticking

All the nuts and bolts on a car need to stay tight or bad things are going to happen.

The inner part of the throttle cable must be a little slack when no one is pressing the gas pedal. If it is taut, the cable is stuck or misadjusted. If that's OK, still with no one pressing the gas pedal, grab the throttle lever and see if you can push it further to the closed position. If the lever doesn't return to fully closed by itself because of sticking or binding in the throttle body, or the spring is broken, the situation you describe of the car running away will happen.

No the car does not run away/ go faster when this happens . Basically it’s like if my car is in neutral and I stepp on the gas but it doesn’t make sense because I’m still in gear.. when I try to shift gears as soon as I put the clutch in is when this happens . I checked the throttle cable and assesmby , whenever this happens I notice that the cable has more slack then before

More slack than before means that the throttle lever did not come back fully.

When it is doing it (engine revving up in neutral even though you're not pressing the gas), turn the key off go under the hood and try to pull the throttle lever back. It should not move. If it does move, go start the engine without touching the gas and it should now idle normally. If it's getting stuck you probably need to remove the throttle body for a thorough cleaning and also check that the return spring is not broken.

So I checked the throttle body , throttle cable , throttle assembly and nothing is getting stuck the springs works the peddle doesn’t get stuck and the cable isn’t loose so I don’t know what the problem can be it doesn’t make sense

It takes air to make the engine run fast. Find out how the extra air is getting into the intake.

Might be worth it to clean out the IACV while you troubleshooting.

I know this thread is a little old, but I started having the same problem on my 95 coupe today so I decided to browse the forum to see if there were any other possible causes then what Im pretty sure is wrong with mine.
Maybe you figured out the problem by now, but if not, check your throttle position sensor, on my 93 and 95 eg theyre mounted on the back of the throttle body.
I litterally just replaced the TPS on my 93 sedan to deal with bogging in the low and high rpms and now my 95 has the same problem youve got. Smh.
