cap&Rotor removal problem
Hey all,
I was going to do a cap and rotor replacement, and ran into a bump. I removed the cap with no problem, but the rotor screw is frozen in. I slightly stripped the screw, do you guys know of a technique to remove this screw, and still salvage it ? Can I spray a little wd40 at the contact point prior to any ideas yall can give me ?
Thanks,
Joe

I thought of that, but was thinking that I might knock the axle that holds the rotor out of whack. Dag nabbit.

It is pretty durable,Worth a shot..
Small vice-grips might work also..
Is it just a phillips head with no hex on the outsides?
Last resort would be a left hand drill bit...

Re: cap&Rotor removal problem (88DXCRX)
should have mentioned that it is a phillips, and no hex on the outside GRRRR. This thing peed me off, there's always has to be one damn little thing that will mess up an operation. Tried using a big needle nose vise grip, but that didn't work.

Snap-on sells them..
The bit cuts counter-clockwise which usually grabs
the broken bolt/screw and spins it right out.
Some direct heat might help as well if you have a small torch..
The bolt usually has loc-tite on it from the factory..
Maybe try using vise grips and the screwdriver as a combo...
Good Luck!
