cant pass 4k rpms help!
okay here is my problem....i have a 97 civic HX (d16y5) and after driving it for about a good 30mins i wont pass 4k rpms.....for instance, if u hit the gas to pick up speed and it hits 4k it just stops and wont go past it....if u put it in neutral and rev it goes to 4k put just bounces off of it........when i first turn on the car it runs good and everything its just after it warms up i guess that it does this........
oh ya someone told me it does this if ur running low on oil, but my oil is good....so i dunno?

Its called limp mode. Lowers rev limit, retards timing a WHOLE bunch. She must be smoking a lot, and sounding like a Subaru. Since its OBDII, then yea u need the scanner, no neat pin tricks to get a flashy CEL.
Anyways, Limp mode ( a.k.a. bullshit mode) i some sort of mode the ECU uses to protect itself, but to be functional so you can " limp " home. Fix your CEL's, and it shall go away after resetting the ECU. Good luck!
P.S. Some CEL's cause limp mode, some don't
I suggest u fix first the ones that do. . . which I'm not sure which they are specifically.
