Canada Vs. USA
Is there any difference between Canadian civics and US civics?
A friend told me that Canadian models were quicker and I wanted to know if this was true, so could anybody clarify this question for me. thanks.

they have a kick *** thing called an EL which is basicly a civic sedan with a diff front end n interior. iono bout canadian models being faster than their USDM counterparts. but maybe thier motors are like JDM motors. a lil more kick in em. hope that helps with something

Re: Canada Vs. USA (b19coupe)
There is no difference between Canadian and American Civic's. They just changed the badging around. If I'm not mistaken, all civic coupes are made in Alliston, Ontario, Canada, which is where the Acura 1.6 and 1.7 models are also made. The 1.7 is the newer and more boring version, but for anyone who hasn't seen it, go to google and search for Acura 1.6EL.....really sharp looking car. I'm surprised that swapping that front end onto your US civic's hasn't caught on yet.

Re: Canada Vs. USA (PSIVIC)
I really don't think canadian civics are quicker than USDM. We do have daytime lights, maybe some more minor differences. An exemple of this would be like the CRX's seatbelts. US CRX have em in the doors, and CDN CRX don't. I have never seen a USDM civic so it would be hard for me to tell any differences, but I owned a USDM CRX .

1.6 el is a 4 dr civic in different sheet metal.
I've been seriously considering buying one for my wife. I know she wants a four door.
Might drop a geeser motor in there and put a greddy turbo on it.

This is kinda off topic and maybe dumb, BUT i have noticed that as i open my hood, there is a metal plate that says Made In Canada!?!? Never thought much of it before, but was mine made in Canda and/or a canadian car or do most/all 92-95 hatches have this?

Re: Canada Vs. USA (krnbk2)
FWIW there are a ton of differences between CDN and US model civics. Airbags on certain models, heated mirrors, colours, just a ton of little stuff, that has already been mentioned. The colour thing for instance, on the 99-00 SiR in Canada, you could get it in FBP, EBP, MR, and VSM. Things like that, there are more but I can't think right now.
