Default Can you guys tell me if this is a GS-R engine or a type-r engine?

I am looking through Japan auctions using an online translator...

Here's what this item says:

Normal B18C. Travelling 38,000km harness attachment. Genuine clutch, flywheel attachment. Cell and dynamo, and so on attachment. インテークマニ and attachment. There is no CPU. It is the engine favorable. You lowered from the car of of normal it is good. Swap and race/lace et cetera, in addition, the EF (CRX, ti Bick), how is at EG ti Bick and EK ti Bick et cetera as a based engine? Because of the financial item, there is the hallmark of the B18C, but engine No being to be shaved understanding. Being not to be something of the accident car, as for the engine itself, completely there is no problem. As for natural question and the like of the one and the like which does not have knowledge being not to be able to answer understanding. In addition for representation exhibition, there are times when question is late. The postage is being packed. This one bears. Furthermore (only main island). It promptly decides for 228,000 Yen. Furthermore, we refuse the bid of the one where the one manner where the nerve is small from above-mentioned thing is bad. Because of medieval times no claim, we ask with the no return. We wait for the bid of the one which has understanding

Anyone knows what it is? can you tell by just one picture?

I wanna say R because the GSR Intake Manifold doesn't look anything like that.

I'd agree. It looks like the rad hose enters towards the back of the block. That's one sign that says R.

I couldnt see why it wouldnt be.

1. Type r intake manifold
2. red valve cover
3. b18c stamp, no suffix
4. obd2 distributor plugs
5. it says "98 spec r" on the valve cover

Yeah, that's a pretty good price. Most long blocks go for around $2500

What is the code on the engine block? Isn't that what you can look at too, to see what engine it is.

That, or it's a longblock on a Type R in JAPAN. Remember, they don't get ripped off over there like we do here.

It is in JAPAN AUCTIONS!!!

The engine is in JAPAN!!!

JAPAN!!! NOT HERE!!! JAPAN!!!

Here's another one for $2500!!!

In the US, there is a HUGE DEMAND FOR THESE ENGINES and that is why prices are crazy...

If I can get it though an auction in Japan for $2000, imagine how much the importers pay for bulk..... Maybe $1400/engine?

To ship from Japan to here, I bet its anywhere from $500 to $1000 depending on how you want to do it and how long you need to wait.

I wish I could do it, but my brother in law is a very busy guy....

I'll end the stollen arguement

Engines in Japan are no longer smog legal once they reach 35,000 miles.

That's it. You either get a new car or a new engine.
