Can I Use 99-00 SI Headers On My GSR Motor?
like the topic says.
when i bought my swap, the header and the secondary pipe does not have the O2 sensor. it doesn't even have a location for the O2. also i've heard gsr's have the O2 mounted on the cat. true? what are my solutions and alternatives? TIA
* edit * can i drill into my header and thread it for the o2?

The 99-00 Si exhaust manifold and downpipe probably won't fit a GSR engine without some work. The B18 deck height is slightly taller than the B16, so the manifold won't line up correctly. Probably not worth the effort.

Yeah, I don't think it will work and if it does it won't be right. Like yobtah said, probably not worth the effort. Go spend a couple hundred bucks on the right header.

YES IT WILL WORK.... I have a b18c1 in my hatch and im using a 00si oem header.
all you have to do is take it to a muffler shop for the exhaust piping. gsr oem header is shorter and doesnt have the O2 bung, while the b16a2 header is a little longer and has the hole for the O2 sensor.

Re: (SikCivic)
it will work fine. i bought a gsr header and put it on my b18b that was in my hatch and i didnt have to do any exhaust modifacation, it just bolted up. then i took it off and my friend with a 1st gen integ with a b16 put it on and it fit fine. but he had to go to a muffler shop.

Are you retarted son?? He's talking about using a dohc header on a sohc motor. I guess all of you guys who love your so called "DOHC" Vtec motors must not know what you are talking about. Only Saturns have two cams!

Re: (Ricey McRicerton)
funny how everyone says it "fits like a glove" when my JDM 2 (b16a) stock header won't fit my LS/VTEC. Had to use a gsr header. I used a 99 civic si cat cause it has a place for a O2, gonna have a test pipe with bung made soon.....

Re: (chrisir19)
ok no b16 header will fit a b18b/c/c5 ....u can get it on but it doesn't fit right the header will be huggin the oil pan....cuz of the difference is deck height and stroke...if you guys like that then do it i would say buy the right header for the engine and make the exhaust fit
IMO i would rather fit a cat and exhaust up to a header that is made for the engine that get a header that doesn't fit properly and try to mate it up with the cat and exhaust

Re: OT (SikCivic)
:sigh: you guys and damn deck height ****. How many people here have actually tried it before? I'll be not many. How many people here even know the differnce in deck height from a B16B/18B,C block vs B16/17A? I'll be again not many.
Just for reference they all have the same flange and bolt pattern design. The only differnece is length. You can either get a custom length cat or modify the exhaust. The hole "oh but it will not clear the oil pan" is just plain untrue.
I think everyone here should go to a junkyard, buy a 99-00 Si exhaust manfiold and go put it on a LS/GSR/CTR/ITR block just to see for yourself.
P.S. I Hearsay.

b16 header on 95 gsr... bolts right up, u can't use the stock gsr header b/c its too short.

a stock b16 header on a gsr will "touch" the oil pan... my friend has this... not hard but it does touch ever so lightly.
