Probably not without making a custom bracket and having to rewire the connector plug. Not worth it. Is your Cav totalled? If so part it out on Craigslist.

I've done similar things with cars in the past when you needed a much larger than stock alternator due to electronic accessories. It does take a custom bracket and rewiring if the plugs don't match (yours wont because it is a different make all together). I'd just pick up a used alternator if you are that tight.

The civic's engine operates counter clockwise. You will be sucking voltage out of the battery/universe like some sort of James Bond super villain.
Jk.
Why even ask this question? Try it. See if it will fit.
It probably won't. Then you'll realize buying the right alternator is cheaper than making it fit. Then you'll have a sandwich. I would.

sometimes you can search em both on websites (advanced/pepboys/etc) and check parts numbers. I *dont* believe alternators are very interchangeable - however a bunch of other parts are.

The alt from your Cav will make power just fine no matter which way it spins. The problem will be with the wiring, as mentioned above, and with the voltage regulator as well. Since the ecu and the alt 'communicate' there would be a language barrier to overcome. It would be neat if you could pull it off though.

hey, gator- when someone comes into the forum and ejaculates diarrhea onto the board, i find it appropriate to say retarded ****. it isnt like we're dealing with rare, exotic cars with impossible to find parts and find ourselves fabricating custom brackets just to keep our cars running- they're honda ******* civics. it is an alternator, not a goddamned flux capacitor. they're a dime a dozen. i have 6 on my shelf. OP- welcome to the wonderful world of subframe constructed cars. cheap to manufacture, but really suck in the long run. honda's decision to begin using them, as well as inferior suspension designs is why i keep my old civics running. good luck to you with yours.

^^^ Exactly. Forums are like buffets. If you don't like a post, or a poster, or don't have a useful contribution to make, you can move on to the next post. Even a cheesehead can understand that. My guess is you say a lot of stupid things each day, more out of habit and lack of anything constructive to say than responding to the queries of others. So just stick to posts that make more sense to you and stop pissing on the ones you don't like. That is all.

Pulleys, wiring, how it bolts up.
I would have to ask the application, but.. Hey, if it's custom, it's custom.
Unc's Nova has e-brake from a 1991 Ford Ranger on it because "that's all they had" so. He made it work.
