I pull a trailer with my Del Sol stock engein stock suspension, It has 4 rces ties and a tool box that is about half full with tools jacks and other misc stuff. I harly know the trailer is there. I have the 48inch utilty trailer from northern tool.

A while back in the EF forum some guy in a civic DX stock towed an old school prelude, with a full 5 car load in the dx, and the only problem he had was heat on the brakes.

So, in response to your question, yes.

You may be able to pull a small trailer but it would be unsafe to use it. If you are speeding down the freeway and you have to come to a fast stop your car and trailer will go flying.

Obviously if you have a 70hp CX that's out of the question.
The engine isn't the problem when towing, it's the transmission you have to worry about, and also the brakes. Also you need a good hitch.
For the money of a swap you could be a truck to haul your **** around.

Yes it will pull a trailer fine. I towed my friends integra in my Stock Cx hatch....I wasnt hauling *** or anything but it worked. With an h22 you wont have any issues. I would just buy a beater truck if i were you though instead of using a hatch as your work truck.....my .02

You can even with the stock CX. Problem is your brakes are going to fry during hard stopping. Another problem is the chasis. Hatches weren't designed to be a tow car. You would have to ghetto rig your rear bumper and reinforce the subframe. The money you'll spend converting the hatch into a tow car could buy you a compact truck.
Its your choice but if you ask me, I wouldn't recommend it.

Im not saying i had a tow hitch on my hatch....i used tow straps and strapped them to the tow hooks. Thats how i moved the integra. I have seen 2 or 3 hatchbacks with tow hitches on the back though.....looks like ***.

Towing another car is different from towing a trailer.
Towing another car wont put load on the brakes since the car being towed also has brakes. Towing a trailer on a tow hitch puts the load on the brakes of the car since the trailer wheels are on free wheel. Not unless you ghetto rig the brakes that will make the trailer wheels brake as the car brakes.

I've seen this exact same situation...
I think you'll be fine as long as you keep the trailer weight low. The biggest problem is the strength of the subframe where the hitch has to mount.
