Cams for B16A2

Cams for B16A2
Hi.
I currently drive a Civic VTi, with a B16A2 engine.
As one of the planned updates I plan to replace the original cams.
I have on hand some ITR cams (Intake Cam 14111-P73-J01
Exhaust Cam 14121-P73-J00) at pretty low cost but I have no idea how these compare to other cams.
Can anyone tell me how these cams compares to the likes of Skunk or Toda or any other for that matter.
Which are considered the best cams ???
MJ

It is really hard to design the overall best cam. Technicaly you want a cam that can give power all the way to redline, which the ITR cams do, esp. on a B16A which redline is 8,400 RPMs. Toda makes different flavors of cams, such as the VTEC killer which gives AWESOME mid range power, hence VTEC is mid-range for the B16A.
To simply answer the question, I believe, from Dyno charts and experience that the Toda VTEC killer, CTR and ITR cams are the best designed for performance. But really, it depends what power band you want and what other modifications you plan on doing to the engine. I hope this helps.

Re: Cams for B16A2 (976)
976 said it....it depends on where you want the power the most....and also how much you're willing to spend.
I've got some Toda A spec cams and the ITR valve springs/retainers on Ebay:

Re: Cams for B16A2 (cnichols)
Thanx for the reply 976.
Cleared things up a bit. I have been planning a complete Toda build, with cams, springs and Toda manifold but some new offers has made me reconsider.
I'd like the cams to give extra power in the mid-high-range. I've heard that the ITR-cams is a little bit better than stock below vtec-engagement and a lot better after vtec-engagment..
The car now has open-air-induction and complete exhaust. Not to happy about the exhaust and are looking to put on spoon 4-2-1 and 2,5" all the way.
but as long as the ITR cams are up there among the best choices for mid-high range I can't mess things up too badly getting them

Yup, I would highly recommend the ITR cams.
As for the header, I would rather recommend the JDM 4-1 b-series header. Even though the 4-2-1 designes gives great flow at low-end - good TQ - the 4-1 designs give much more performance mid- all the way to redline. If you want to save some TQ I would go 4-2-1, if you won't some serious high end power (being n/a) go with the 4-1 design.
I'm running a b16a with this setup and I highly recommend it. The high end power is by far the better choice IMHO. But the agian I have stock cams, I would LOVE to feel the power with ITR cams.

personally, I would say Toda. But there are a lot of nice cams out there. itr cams are nice, but ctr's are actually a little more aggressive. Spoon and JUN also makes very nice cams. Do a little more research to figure out what your long term goal is for the motor.
