I'm planning to put ITR cams on B16A. Would that affect the smog check?

They effect it but not so much that you would fail or pass. But when you change out the pistons and such then youll have problems.

So then.....even if I add the cam gears on them, my smog check would not have major effect that I pass or fail?

Pistons make a pretty big difference when it comes to smog?

Just make sure the cam gears are set to stock specs and covered and you'll be fine.
