This came out with the spark plug. What is it?
I was working on my friends accord and when we pulled out one of the spark plugs, this thing came out with it as well. Does anyone know what it is and why its there? The other cylinders didn't have it.

it is an oil antifouler. meaning that cylinder was having blowby of some sort and oil kept fouling out that spark plug. you can pick those up at any autoparts store. if your friend has one of those on his car that means bad news, rings........it puts the tip of the plug away the length of that spacer and protects it from oil from going to the plug tip and fouling it out.

what did he do abou the spark plug wire? It had to have been prutruding past the valve cover a good inch or so. No one thought this might have been a problem?

I actually had a spark plug shoot right out of one of those when I was going down the road in one of my old ef's, it sucked.
