Default Calling all EJ8's...mpg

sup guys, just wanted to know what kind of mpg are you guys getting? I just changed out my girls dizzy on her 98 ej8, didnt change the wires, spark plugs, cap, or rotor though. The parts were still in good condition so i didn't change them(plan too though). Anyways the car is drivin half of the time on streets and half of the time on the freeway. Im not sure how to calculate how much mpg shes getting but with a full fill up she gets about 280 miles to a full tank.

*motor is bone stock

haha...just wanted some numbers...thing is she's throwing a cel so i think that has something to do with it. I went to autozone the other day and hooked the obd2 scanner but the scanner kept reading link error so i';m not sure if it was the scanner that was bugging out or the connecter on the car itself. Tried going to another autozone but there obd2 scanner was out for rent.

y8 with 79k miles. Manual tranny. Have gotten as little as 250 of 10 gallons but that was with a lot of sprinted driving, a lot of abuse, and meny redlines. Usually when I only redline it about once a day or less, I get 300miles of 10 gallons.

My stock '98 EX coupe got about 340 miles on the last tank. So maybe about 29mpg or so.

My car's manual, has an AEM SRI and a bad transmission (ISB - tend to rev a little higher lately). I'm on 195/50-15s on my car. That should pretty much cover anything at all that would make mine anything different than stock that could concern gas mileage.

Oh, and my car has 136,790 original miles on it (on the dot, just checked for you guys). I speed, but other than that I don't really do anything abusive towards it.

Edmunds.com says for a '98 EX coupe...
MT: 30 mpg city / 35 mpg highway
MT: 357 miles city / 416.5 miles highway (per tank)
AT: 28 mpg city / 35 mpg highway
AT: 333.2 miles city / 416.5 miles highway (per tank)

Btw, next time you gas up (wait until it gets low) set the tripometer. Then when you gas up when it's low the next time, get a reciept and see how much gas you just put in (or remember it from the pump). Write down how many miles you got on the reciept. Take the miles driven and divide it by the amount of gas you just had to put back in the tank to make it full. For example, mine was 338 miles, and I put in about 11.5 gallons (the tank is an 11.9 gallon tank). So I got about 29 mpg.

miles driven / gallons of gas put in = gas mileage

Now I get about 0 miles to a half a tank b/c I have an Oil Level Viewing Window in my Crankcase! I threw a rod about 3 weeks ago. Before, I was getting about 20mpg mixed with no O2 sensors.

My setup was....

'99 EX coupe
GReddy 15g turbo kit @ 12 psi
GReddy blue box for tuning also FOR SALE!
Walbro 255lph fuel pump
AEM high volume fuel rail
B&M FPR @ ~55psi @ WOT
Zex 105300 cam
AEM cam gear
Exedy Stage II clutch kit
3" stainless catback
2.5" downpipe
JRC front mount
2.5" charge piping
Weapon R throttle rotor

When it comes back out I'll have all the above plus

Eagle H Beam Rods
Vitara Pistons
Bigger front mount
More boost
DSM 450cc injectors
p06 ECU chipped with Crome/VTEC
Resistor box for the injectors
3" downpipe back, 1 mandrel bend exhaust

I probably left some stuff off of both lists...

d16y7, bone stock in a hatch, 165k miles, still get 39-40mpg. I always get at least 400 miles per tank before filling back up with 10-10.5 gallons. Mind you most of my driving is highway commuting back and forth to work 60 miles a day. I have gotten as high as 41mpg before. Maybe I should change my oil and do another tune-up.

320 miles per gallon? Wow. Sorry for being a jerk, but I couldn't help it, I'm sure you meant 320 miles per tank.
