Cable type hood locks on Civics

Cable type hood locks on Civics
I know this may be in the wrong section but please hear me out. I'm wondering if anyone has used a cable/sliding pin type mechanical hood lock on their Civic.
A search has only shown me that some people may have used them on Integras. And someone with an ITR has used the Club brand electronic spool type. A search on the internet has only shown that people use them on Jeeps. And specific installs are VERY hard to find because everyone is afraid of compromising their security.
So basically, I'm wondering if anyone has used the cable type hood lock on a civic. I want to know that it can even be done before I plunk down the money. Thanks.
