A/C removal, Will i notice a difference?
I was just wondering before i go and do this, if i remove the a/c will i notice any power gains at all, and will removing it affect my defrosters or anything like that, cuz i noticed that the defroster works faster with the a/c on to. one more thing , would i be better off just taking the belt off ?
thanks for the help.

No. Since the compressor isn't engaged when the A/C is off, the parasitic losses from the system are very, very small.

Yes. The defroster is more effective with a functioning A/C system.

Again, you won't be freeing up any power like you would by, say, removing the PS belt (since the PS pump is always "engaged"). The main reason people remove their A/C system (meaning the entire system) is weight reduction, which you obviously won't be achieving by removing the belt.

Thanks alot for the answers!
Damn i kinda enjoy the luxury of p/s , is it worth it to remove the p/s. Do the power gains compensate for the loss of comfort?

Yeah, people have the misconcept that the a/c is always running like in a lot of Chevy's and such. You won't gain much. I pulled my belt just because and it isn't even a noticeable difference.
