Default a/c leak....but can hold a vacuum????

It only takes 1 day for the freon to leak out completely. My friend works for audi and I had it vacuum tested his shop and it held a vacuum for like 2 hours with no leak. Any ideas where it can be leaking? BTW I replaced the expansion valve and evaporator before I tested it.

Thanks for your responses

but if it was pressurized on a vacuum wouldn't it leak from there?

I'm thinking its the high or low side value where you put the freon in becuase these arn't tested durin the test becuase they are connected to the test vacuum lines.

it could be leaking from anywhere...
any o-ring, line or damaged part. have the system dyed and then re-check with the special glasses that will spot the "greenish" glow of the dye.
i just got back from training at honda and you would not believe whee some of the a/c leaks came from on some of the cars i worked on....
good luck!

Vacuum is negative pressure and excerpts different forces on the seals and lines and components than the positive pressure of freon. I would think you could find a leak that big with soap. Schraider valves, pressure switch, and all o-ring sealed connection are the most likely places that would hold vacuum but leak under positive pressure.
