Default A/C help. 98 civic

So when I would use my ac driving it would blow cold but when I would stop it would gradually get warmer and warmer and really start lug n the motor down and clicking on nad off about every 20 seconds so I got some guages and metered and seen that the pressures where 425 high side 50 low ..

So I had some removed and the system seemed to be working properly but didn't get cold hither sit n or driving so I drove home and could hear a sucking sound under the dash when I turned it on so I check it on the gauges showed me 190/20 hmm so I added 1/2 a can got my pressures back to 250/37ish and was cooling but not much so I let it run for 30 min or so with no change so I kill the far and 15 min later I started it back cooling real nice all the sudden and then the luging and clicking on n off came back so I gauge it again and 450 / 90 and rising till it got about 480 and 110 the comp would click off they would fall back and when it clicked on they would rise up to that point again over and over so I gave up for a few days and today I drove it and turned it on seemed ok but not cold but cool .......wth ....expansion valve ? Drier ? Or any suggestions ? Maybe a 12 ga shot gun to it ?

Please use punctuation. It's almost impossible to understand what you are saying.

Does the condenser fan run?

Check whether the condenser is clogged and the fins are bent.

Recover all the refrigerant and recharge with the proper weight.

Fins are good .
And I washed though them just fine .

It only does this when the ac is cold but when its just cool the system seems to be fine just not real cold .

I've had the same problem as you. It's a high pressure problem. Let me explain to you whats going on. When you first turn on your ac you high pressure will start to rise. Vent temp will start to get cold. As the pressure continually rises the freon start to get really hot. If the condensor doesn't cool that. The pressure will get too high and hit your high pressure cut off switch. This prevents your system from blowing up. Now as it ain't compressing anymore no more cold air comes out of the vent. aite enought of that mumbo jumbo.

It could be a multiple of problems why your system is doing this...condensor fan going out, condensor is getting clogged, TXV is broken, or drier is getting clogged.

To check if its your condensor fan: spray a constant stream of water onto you condensor while your ac is running. Make sure you monitor your gauges. If your high and low temps stabalize while your ac vent temp gets cold then you found your problem. (This was my problem). A shop was going to charge me almost $600 to fix it! Then i found out it was only a $25 condensor fan

For the condensor, TXV, and/or drier being clogged you need to flush the whole system and replace the drier and txv. Then add proper oil, vacuum system, then recharge.
