I personally wouldnt buy a wrecked car....especially for 6500 dollars. I got a 97 dx hatch for less than that from a dealership.

Re: buying a rebuild civic..questions (kent)
don't buy it.
It is way too expensive, even if he fixses it and then sells it for 6500 it is still
too expensive.
look
and to show you its a ex.
I bought this from the dealorship for 6500, the car is clean blue title and never been wrecked.
now you can see the difference.
If i were you i would NOT buy that civic.

dude your nuts if you pay 6500 for that car. Look at the front end damage. Needs a motor, hood, etc. Its not worth 6500. Id tell him id give him 1500 or less.

don't do it.. that will in the end cost you close to 10k at the $6500 price...
i'd offer $1500-$1800 for it..
and remember buyers have more power than sellers
theres always another car and you can take your money elsewhere

Are you guys COMPLETE idiots!! He's not buying the car as is for 6500. Somebody is going to rebuild the whole front end and THEN sell it for 6500. I think if he uses OEM parts, blends a perfect finish, and does everything right, it would be worth 6500. What year is it BTW??? After the car is finishes, take it a body shop that specializes in unibody's and make sure everything is done correctly. Take the engine in to a mechanic and have him look that over. You could posible get a better deal, it just takes time.

Re: buying a rebuild civic..questions (Emerica)
Its not a bad deal, but you have to keep in mind its never going to be the same as a new car or a car that hasn't been in an accident like that. Depending on the kind of job hes gonna do shitty or good 6500 is not bad.

Re: buying a rebuild civic..questions (Emerica)
As Emerica said, if the rebuilder used genuine parts and and does a good job, I think in the end it might be worth it. Although, just keep looking because I'm sure there will be other 6th gen civics for cheaper than that with a clean title. Either way.

Re: buying a rebuild civic..questions (Maverick)
The best thing is to be patient and take advantage of every resource i.e. autotrader, newspaper, etc. I found my 93 CX hatch for 1600 bucks, through word of mouth, but still. I also offer the "find a better deal, not wrecked" opinion. You will feel better in the long run. I am sure you could find an unwrecked, Certified Used for 6500 bucks... Good luck in whatever you choose...
