Bullsh*t or Not????spring question
Heres the dilly- My friend has springs for $50 bucks but one of them is slightly bent my friend says (FRIEND)"once you put it in the strut it wont matter at all, all the spring does is keep the car up and the strut make the car stop bouncing.... so it won't have any affect on the ride" Is this True??? should i buy these springs??? They are Arospeed 2.25 drop. For my 92 civic hatch CX - Oh yeah and he wants to sell me 3 tockic blues for 50 bucks also-PLEASE GIVE ME SOME GOOD ADVICE

no, don't buy bent springs...they could be unstable, and you will only know after something has happened.

Your friend is probably quessing it won't hurt (not to mention it will not hurt his pockets) but probably doesn't know for certain. Personally, I wouldn't do it. And if the spring got bent in a wreck or something with those blues, I wouldn't buy them either. Just my .02

I can't understand why a spring would just up and bend itself..... It was either heated, involved in an accident, or not installed properly, many of which will change its charactaristics and cause it to perform differently from the others. Depending on the severity of the bend, it could be potentially dangerous.
As for the tokico's, try to push the rod down and see how the resistance is, if its really really soft, its probably worn out, check how fast it pushes up after you depress it, dont forget to check for excessive oil around the rod opening afterwards.
let me know what you need... i got tons of civic/integra springs laying around used and new.... i got bent ones too

I think the floor has spoken... Don't do it. Besides I don't like Aerospeed springs anyway.Friend of mine had a similar problem with a bent spring.
