Building a B18
I've just decided instead of going out and buying a whole swap at once then putting money into it Im just going to buy a bare bottom end and build it from there. Only problem Im into now is what bottom end to start with. Is there a difference between the B18C1 block and C5 block. I want one that has the most potential, but not sure if there is a difference while they are bare. Planning to buy forged crank, new rods, pistons and everything. So just wondering if there really is a difference between the 2 blocks. If so could someone please tell me. Thanks

you can get a ls block for cheaper, and if you plan on bulding the motor from a bare block then you can just get that block for cheap. the itr block is more and it will be about the same hp numbers as a ls block. thats if you are building it from a bare block..

Re: Building a B18 (1994hatch)
Yeah Im building it from bare block. boring .20 over. So totally changing everything in the bottom end and head when I get that. Was wondering if there was a difference in any of the B18 blocks. Yeah I was thinking the LS would be cheaper, but wasnt for sure if there was any difference. Is there any difference at all? Or are they all just the same just different internals that make them different when assembled?
