All B and Ds are slow stock, but I'd rather have a stock B20Z under the hood any day than a stock 1.6L SOHC. I enjoy torque and lowend.

I know you enjoy the SOHC Jim(I enjoyed mine to when I had it in), I wasn't flaming him for putting a D16 in place of the B, was just asking why. No need really for a half *** attempt at a smart *** remark. I still think your a cool guy though

ya i didnt really try there lol. B20's are nice for regular driving. But I love my built D and im never going B

Well now your D isn't stock. I was stating stock for stock I would rather have a B. I would take your built, boosted(or I think your boosted IIRC)D-Series over a stock or mildly built B anyday

no its tuned. and 14psi on a b series isnt going to be 340+HP. because it will depend on the size of the turbo... and 340HP would only be 30HP more than i have now since 270WHP is around 310HP, and a B series build would have cost 2x what my build cost. And im on low boost now, in a few months im going on 20PSI.

lol i dont hate all B series. I'm just a SOHC guy, and im sick of DOHC guys talkin ****, because I always have to hear **** whenever I go to a meet or event about how DOHC is better, etc.

Oh just say it..you HATE the B-Series..just kidding man. It does seem like the hardcore DOHC guys have more of a habit of **** talking guys with SOHCs. The SOHC guys usually don't bash the DOHC guys in the same regard.

I think the D-Series is very often over looked when it comes to boost. If you have a D, you can use the $1,000 to $3,500 you saved from "not" going B-Series and build your D for boost and have very nice numbers and a SUPER FUN car. Like when I really think about it, I swapped out my D16Z6 for a B18B1..Total I probably had $2,000 wrapped up in the whole swap and have a car that still isn't much faster if at all than my car was with the Z6. Doesn't make a DAMN bit of sense. I like my LS for the low end power and torque it has over the SOHC, but some people put a stock LS up on a pedestal for some reason when it shouldn't be, Its not an impressive engine, now an LS on boost can be very impressive, but then again, so can a D-Series on Boost.

If I had to do it over again, I would have built my D. Honestly. I think about that from time to time and it kinda makes me sick that I spent the money to put that B in there. I do like the way the B-Series looks in the engine bay over a SOHC though

The speedo was acting up so you cant see how fast we were going, but 2nd gear ends at 65.
I have 2 passengers in the car in this video and a bunch of crap in the trunk from working on the car (so figure about 450lb added weight, +/-50lb?).

its all the added weight. and if you look in the video i dont take the car to redline after 2nd gear, so i started shifting early. Because I was already going 30 over the speed limit by the end of 2nd gear. So I just took it to around 80. With me only in the car and a empty trunk it goes 0-60 in around 5 seconds, maybe a little less. In this video it took almost 6 lol.
