u shouldn't need to drain it unless u over fill the tranny

When u pull the axle have the other one ready to go right in so if fluid does come out u wont lose alot. or i usually jack up the car so the fluid tilts in the other direction so when u take out the axle the fluid stays on the other side.

You have to make a thread about every single question you have on the same topic?

Just keep it in one thread.

No you dont have to drain it. Good idea to do a tranny flush if you havent before but not a need.

Which axle are you removing?

The Driver side is in an intermediate shaft so that needs to be hammered out.

But the pass side needs a prybar or big screw driver and it should come right out.

ok- after much prying and twisting i got it out,

so i slid the new one right in and it fit perfect. Question:

should i lube up either/both end of the axle or can i just stick it in?

In the writeups i read there is no need to lube it up, just want to double check tho..

thanks again!

ok so i just put it in no lube...

new problem: on the tranny side, although i can push the axle flush with the tranny, if i try to pull out on the axle (like im trying to take it out, it slies prolly like 2-3mm then feels like it locks.

is this amount of play normal??

2 - 3mm is nothing. Now a inch or so yes thats bad.

I never put grease when i do a axle.
