Im performing the integra front and rear full upgrade the caliper and rotor and the whole trailing arm in the rear. My question is i know i have to get the non abs propotion valve but is the master cylinder a must. When ive searched some say you need it others say you dont ? so do you need it or not? any one running the similar set up without the master cylinder?

i say wait until you get both the 40/40 prop vavle and MC.

they actually do matter bro, i've had the gsr rear disc setup on my ej8 and at the same time upgraded to gsr front calipers. During semi hard braking my brakes would lock up (wasn't a fun experience and no i dont tail gate). Your brake pedal feel will be way soft and your brakes upgrade will not work to the full extent. After a week i took off the gsr front calipers and threw back on my ex calipers. Brake feel now is alot better and braking stops on a dime (could be better with a 40/40 prop vavle/MC). What i'd recommend, at the least is get the 40/40 prop vavle. Running just the rear discs is fine but running bigger front calipers/rotors will def get you into a accident.

yea see thats what i was wondering bc now my brakes suck i have pressure at the pedal but i have to slam on the brakes for it to barely stop if i just get the proportion valve will this be fixed or do i have to change the master as well bc that seems like a bitch

the prop vavle will be a better upgrade.

ok lets just say i wanted to go ahead and replace the mc with the 91 civic one thats supposed to bolt up would that make the brakes on point and have good pedal feel? and if i changed the master cylinder would i have to change the Brake booster? thanks

i just replaced my master cylinder with a 15/16 master from a 91 civic. i already installed the 40/40 prop valve.

changing the master cylinder wouldnt require you to change the brake booster unless you wanted a type-r or gsr master cylinder. the bolt pattern is opposite of the civics stock booster.

i would definitely swap the whole set-up. you will be happy with it. without the 40/40 prop valve, the pressure to the rear and front discs will be off, which will rob you of some brake power.

ihave that setup in my 96 ek and i will be getting a mc soon cuz it should be better so go for it will be doing i tin the future any way get started
