I don't know about fried, but I do know about warped. Warped from the expansion of the metal when they get hot and then uneven cooling, not to mention that they're probably spinning while this happens.
If they're not too badly warped most shops will be able to put them on a lathe and resurface them. Otherwise you may end up buying new ones. They're not all that expensive for the work they do man.
