Default Bone stock EK bad mileage!!! quick

new plugs, wires, fuel filter, distributor is fine and centered pretty much, no engine lights. its cold, and I use 87octane in a 98civic CX. I cant get more than 30mpg basically 10litres of fuel goes 100km where as a few months ago 13L of fuel would go over 200km.

what else can I try? I dont want to wait till summer to save on gas this thing should be sipping and going 600+km per tank. driving style is medium fast but even grannied I get the same results. not sure if theres a leak or if the o2's would seriously help. any suggestions will help

Maybe it's nothing to do with the engine.

Wheel bearing going? low tire pressure? Maybe a brake is rubbing or something.

^ lol that's a pretty ballsy first post.

Burnt out CEL in the cluster? Maybe you have a CEL and just don't know it? Rare but possible.

Awaiting answer from grumblemarc's question too...could have alot of influence on the matter.

^ you suck as a new user.

Photobucket the pics.

Stop thread jacking, trolling, and sit back a little bit in the forums before you just start posting a bunch of bullshit.

bad intake manifold gasket? if its getting to much air the o2 sensor will see the lean mix and tell the ecu to dump more fuel i it. when you smash on the gas does it hesitate or anything?

I would guess it has more to do with the winter month temperatures. Also, do you let your car warm up before driving it for any extended period of time?

x2 may well be something that deals or leads up to your o2 sensor..

Colder air requires more fuel. It also makes more power. Does the car run like it used to? Does it feel slow? Go to a local autoparts store and check the codes (like someone else said its possible to have a bad CEL). Or you can check if the CEL works, usually pushing the gas to the floor when the car is off with throw a CEL (its used to check the CEL).

Good call I didn't even think about the colder air so if it's cold air and its getting too much air that thing is gonna be DUMPING fuel

If you have a d16y7 or your cat converter in front of the motor I can tell u exactly what it is. You have a crack at your o2 sensor on the ex mani. Happended to me. Pull the heat shield off your ex mani and look at the back side. If you see a bunch of black its a crack, don't see any black look around your ex mani and ill guarantee you have a crack. Pretty normal thing on the crappy y7 manis. What happens is it pulls air in by the o2 sensor making it read lean and in return the ecu dumps in more and more fuel trying to correct the problem. Hence killing your mileage. Mine got so bad to the point where I was getting 20 mpg. Then got a y8 head and intake mani (pulled out the vtec valvtrain and inserted my y7 valtrain) and ebay header and an angled o2 cel eliminator and now get 42+ mpg.
