Default blue book value

got into an accident heres my question

which value does the adjuster go by when estimating damage to the car to determine wheather or not it will be totaled:

do i use:

1.TRADE-IN
The value you may expect to be offered by a dealer when trading in your own used vehicle.

2.PRIVATE PARTY
The value you may expect to find when purchasing a used car from another consumer.

3.USED CAR RETAIL
The asking price you may expect to find when shopping for a used vehicle from a dealer.

4.PRIVATE PARTY
The value you may expect to receive when selling your car to another consumer.

also when you factor in the condition of the car for the final value, do you use the condition before or after the accident.

if the cost of fixing your car is greater than your blue book value... its considered a salvage title

Before. Some companies don't even bother doing appraisals on the car. Print out Autotrader ads for your area just in case to prove market value.

He'll basically use a combination of retail and private party. Just depends on the adjuster. It'll probably get totaled being a car that old.

You should get paid market value if it's totaled.
