Block Posting: Material and position
I believe this is where my question should start because the B20 engine that I will build is a "hybrid."
First off - I contacted Endyn about there block post kits. I am told they no longer sell these any longer. No big deal. The website states that the posts are made of 356-t6 aluminum. After some searching I have found that there is also a A356-t6. Is there a difference between these two alloy's? I know that T6 designates the "curing" process but that's it Could someone please tell me if these two names are for the same material?
Also as a side note, I contacted a local metal supplier, and he told me that I would be paying an arm and a leg for this material...So would 6061-T6 work?
2nd question - what is the thread form used for these so I can get a Die and make them. The slotted ends look like a hacksaw blade cut. Also what diamter of material would be good? I am thinking either 3/8" or 5/16"..
3rd question. At what position do you place these posts or how could you calculate the points at which the most thrust is placed on the cylinder
Thanks for your time

thanks!

Re: Block Posting: Material and position
if it is a Hybrid then why didn't you post in the Hybrid forum?
https://honda-tech.com/forums/hybrid-engine-swaps-18/
Or the All Motor forum?
https://honda-tech.com/forums/all-motor-naturally-aspirated-44/
This is general tech forum about the 92-00 Civic. As yours is a pretty specific barrage of questions you would be best served in a forum more speicific to your inquiries.

Re: Block Posting: Material and position
Well I posted in the hybrid section and nothing but nothing so I decided post in the section because it seemed like a good secondary solution
I have 2 more replies than I did in hybrid
The engine is a B20

The car I have is a 1994 Honda civic
What does this have to do with my question I am curious?
Is it because the content does not fit the message board?

Yes, I must ensure that your set up and tech question have some relevance to this specific subforum. And posting information about your car is an enforced rule of this subforum.

Re: Block Posting: Material and position
Ok fair enough
Setup is this - 1994 civic coupe - SI - Canadian model
Currently running a rebuilt B18c1 oversized @ 81.5mm
Auto --> manual swap Rear disk conversion and sway bar upgrade
Full coil over suspension and big fat exhaust with a test pipe I made
I enjoy my new engine but I want a new project hence the information on block posting
