bleed coolant system
ok picked up a 94 hatch and there is no a/c or heater. the control panel is even gone. has a ls-v swap in it. i was cruising the highway this morning and someone told me coolant was spraying out. the drive back was almost 50 miles all highway. not once did the temp rise above 1/3(normal) then when i finally got close to home and stopped, the temp started riseing until i started to go which then it went down. suspect fan not working. so i let the car sit for a couple of hours and went to check fluid, it wasnt completely dry but coolant definitely left. havent added any fluid yet as i dont know how im suppose to bleed it with no heater. any ideas?

Re: bleed coolant system
Sounds like the heater core was bypassed and removed. It doesn't have to be present to bleed the system of air. Where was coolant leaking from? Hope you got that for a real bargain.

yes the heater core was bypass and removed from under the glove box. without the heater, how am i suoppose to bleed the air. so once i fill it with coolant, let the car run with the bleed screw unloose, thats all?

Re: bleed coolant system
and it is a small leak from the small hose that goes from the head to the intake mani. but yea it was bargain. talked the guy down from 3000 to 1000 bucks because of that issue and clutch issues. pretty decent car though. rebuilt ls-v with almost 200(yes 200) miles on it. body isnt perfect, but she is running strong other than cooling issues
